| Airbag Electronic Front Sensor |
 |
Installed in the front of the vehicle is the electronic front sensor. This sensor not only detects a front collision instantaneously, it also has a semiconductor acceleration sensor that detects the amount of deceleration caused by a collision. The semiconductor acceleration sensor then sends that collision information to the airbag ECU. DENSO introduced the highly accurate semiconductor acceleration sensor for the electronic front sensor in 2002.
Benefits and Features
- Applicable to various deployment controls of airbags
- The high-accuracy semiconductor acceleration sensor digitally outputs the amount of the deceleration, realizing optimal deployment controls of airbags.
- Applicable to any type of vehicle
- Adjustable sensor sensitivity by the airbag ECU.
- Highly reliable communication
- Repeated digital output transmitting 1-bit parity and 2 bytes eliminates electrical noise.
- 2P connector (same as the electro-mechanical front sensor)
- Small size and low cost
- One-chip IC integrating data processing circuit and data communication circuit, reducing the number of parts.
- Installable in the engine room.
- Waterproof and heat-resistant material.
Types
- Standard type (sensor unit is integrated with the bracket)
- Separate type (sensor unit is separated from the bracket)
