In 1989, DENSO purchased a company in Shipley, West Yorkshire named IMI Radiators Limited. The company was founded in 1904, and manufactured automotive radiators. In 1989, the company was given the name DENSO MARSTON Ltd .
Now, the manufacturing company has 575 employees and produces cooling systems for the car, truck and tractor markets.
There is no doubt about DENSO Marston’s commitment to the community and to the environment. When the company extended its factory for the production of car radiators in 1991, the company also made the decision to create the DENSO Marston Wildlife Park. A three-hectare strip of land that runs between the new factory extension and the river Aire, which had been designated wash-land by the Environment Agency, was designated for the park.
The community involvement was one of the major factors in developing the park. Members of the community and approximately 360 children from local schools joined the effort.
