DENSO Manufacturing Italia S.p.A. opened its doors to the public in the town of San Salvo in November 2001. DENSO acquired an 80 percent share of Magneti Marelli S.p.A.’s Rotating Machines Division in April 1999. At the end of 2001 DENSO became 100% owner of Magneti Marelli Manufacturing, that was founded in 1972.

San Salvo, one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in central Italy, has a name for development, progress and industrialisation. The plant has two divisions: starters and alternators, and small motors.
