TELFORD, UK - One of Telford’s largest employers DENSO Manufacturing UK has just offset more than 66 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions following a recycling drive at the factory.
As part of the International Environment Day held in June, DENSO encouraged all associates to bring in unwanted clothes, batteries and other recyclable products for recycling.
Many associates took the opportunity to get rid of their unwanted goods with over 250kg of additional waste collected in this special drive. DENSO then pledged to donate £2 per kg to a carbon dioxide offsetting company.
The chosen charity was Climate Care – an organisation which reduces greenhouse gas emissions on behalf of companies and individuals. These reductions are made through a range of projects around the world that not only make real reductions in carbon emissions, but also make a difference to people’s lives.
DENSO’s environment officer, Manel Roura, said: “We had a good response from our associates and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to bring in their recyclable waste to help us continue to develop our recycling activities.”
