Supporting People with Disabilities: DENSO Taiyo Celebrates Cumulative Production of 20 Million Automotive Instrument Clusters
KARIYA (Japan) – DENSO Corporation announced that DENSO Taiyo Co., Ltd., a DENSO Group company employing people with disabilities, today held a ceremony at its headquarters in Aichi, Japan to celebrate reaching cumulative production of 20 million automotive instrument clusters.
 
At DENSO Taiyo, the majority of products are produced by people with disabilities. DENSO Taiyo’s facilities are totally barrier-free, and the company has implemented improvements to aid in production, such as changing production equipment according to the degree of disability. All employees of the company work together to produce and deliver high-quality products. DENSO Taiyo was established in 1984.  
 
DENSO supports the independence of people dealing with disabilities. In addition to DENSO Taiyo, DENSO established the Wheelchairs and Friendship Center of Asia (WAFCA), a nonprofit organization, in 1999 and has since produced wheelchairs throughout Asia, as well as supported sports for people with disabilities, such as wheelchair basketball. At DENSO, many employees work as volunteers supporting these sports events, as well as cleaning and maintaining the wheelchairs used at welfare facilities.
