DYNAMIC ROUTE GUIDANCE (RDS-TMC)

Tired of sitting in stationary traffic? Wish you knew of a non-congested detour around an accident? DENSO Navigation can help by dynamically re-routing you around areas of congestion.

RDS-TMC (Radio Data System – Traffic Message Channel) provides the system with real time traffic information about events relevant to the car’s position and planned route helping you to avoid those annoying hold-ups.

DENSO Navigation systems offer dynamic re-routing around areas of congestion. Traffic events are sent to the system via a Traffic Message Channel. If a traffic event occurs on your planned route that may hinder your progress, the Navigation system will offer to re-route you around the congested area.  When planning a route the system will re-route around any current traffic events that are on the default route.

The system will also warn you of any other events on the route that may require extra caution – for example high winds, fog, snow, objects on the carriageway.

You can see how the DENSO system uses this information to  re-route you around the event by looking at the Demo.
